A Little Ramble
With only a week to go until I'm back at uni I really didn't want to spend all my time inside doing nothing or just continually on my computer or Xbox. Trying to save money, I didn't really want to use my car either which, with most of my friends being at work, led me to having to take a walk beginning and ending at my house. I've previously written good things about the area I live, or at least the rural areas, and this walk further confirmed my views, You might not get the views or spectacular scenery of elsewhere, but you do get classic British countryside and the odd hidden gem. Wholeheartedly, I would encourage other people to get out and explore around there home, you never know what you might discover.
Focusing back on the route I took today, it took me through woodland, fields, even along the edge of a golf course. Due to some bad map reading, I turned the wrong way at one point and had to backtrack a fair distance once I realised my mistake. Quite interestingly, I've been reading a book on WWII recently and it took me by surprise to see what I can only assume is possibly one of the V-... missiles employed by the Nazis and an old fighter plane. Unfortunately, the latter was hidden more behind a wall and can only just be seen. Finally, I also saw the brightest fungi I have ever seen.
Overall, I enjoyed the walk and it gave me something to do during this final week before I have to work again. Once again, I can definitely recommend that people do try and explore their local area, because you never know what might be lying around the next corner.
