Red Deer on White Edge
Another meet-up with the family this weekend saw me take a walk along Froggatt Edge and then back along White Edge, before having a quick drink in the Grouse Inn, then getting the train back to university from Hope.
What was particularly special about this walk was the sighting of herd of Red Deer mixed in amongst the golden vegetation lining the edges at this time of year. It was good to hear the sound of them rutting, and proves that you don’t have to travel that far to experience Britain’s largest land mammal in the wild.
Although the weather looks nice enough, you can definitely feel a chill in the air now as autumn gets into full swing, and with winter just around the corner, this year seems to be going very fast. Personally, I’m hoping we might see some snow at some point and I can get into the Peak District for wintry walks.
Anyways, I'm not going to write loads this time round, but I hope you can enjoy the pictures above.
